The usual stages include the following:
- Survey and site analysis either carried out by Catherine or by a professional surveyor depending on the size and complexity of the site.
- Outline Plan, usually illustrative and in colour, accurate but not detailed. This includes sketches and accurate drawings to help you visualise the garden. I will help you to make decisions on materials and plants which will be incorporated into the next stages.
- Hard Landscape Plans - detailed plans and specifications, including accurate setting out plans, materials, construction methods, lighting and electrics.
- Planting Plans – specific plant cultivars, sizes, planting method and season.
- Plant maintenance programme – all you need to know to look after your new plants.
Implementation of the design
I can oversee all or part of the construction of your new garden.
Handling the tender process and monitoring the construction and planting of the garden is quoted as a percentage of the contractor’s invoice. Accurate and detailed drawings will enable contractors to quote competitively.
My project monitoring service can:
- help you to obtain best value and control costs
- ensure that the work is completed to a good standard and that your vision is not compromised.
- manage timescales, ensuring that the work is completed on schedule.
The completed garden
A successful collaboration between designer, client and contractors will result in fulfilment of the garden design which is beautiful, practical and good value.
